OOMPH! – Tausend Mann Und Ein Befehl [English Subtitles]

Notes: As I’ve previously been asked this already. The German phrase “Stellt euch quer!” comes from the term “Querstellen”, which translates in English as “to buck”. “Bucking” means opposing or resisting, specifically something oppressive or inevitable. Hence the translation of “Resist!”.

Also, yes, I could have used lockstep instead of military step. However, military step specifically means the synchronized step. It´s only a secondary meaning in case of lockstep.

Text:

For a thousand days in the foreign region,
he and his battalion march forward.
He swore allegiance to the false master.
Still almost a child and already he lost his innocence.

Do not think!
Join in!
You have to obey!
Forward in military step!
March!

Shoot already!
Do not hesitate!
Just do your duty!
Forward in military step!
March!

Never again war!
Somewhere in a country far away, they set the world on fire.
A thousand men and one command.
One command!

Never again war!
Fiercely destiny strikes, today me and tomorrow you.
A thousand men and one command.
One command!

Resist!
Resist!
Resist!
Resist!

For a thousand days already at the front,
with empty eyes he stares to the horizon.
Anyone who wanted to go into the field with pride,
later cried while dying for their mother!

We want you strong and tough!
Do or die, soldier!
Forward in military step!
March!

Fight for your fatherland!
Who does not want to go to the front?
Forward in military step!
March!

Never again war!
Somewhere in a country far away, they set the world on fire.
A thousand men and one command.
One command!

Never again war!
Fiercely destiny strikes, today me and tomorrow you.
A thousand men and one command.
One command!Never again war!

Never again war!
Never again war!
Never again war!
Never again war!
Never again…

Never again war!
Somewhere in a country far away, they set the world on fire.
A thousand men and one command.
One command!

Never again war!
Fiercely destiny strikes, today me and tomorrow you.
A thousand men and one command.
One command!

Resist!
Resist!
Resist!
